Oil exports under attack: drones again attack key Russian oil ports

On the night of Friday, March 27, powerful explosions were heard in the Leningrad region of Russia. The oil terminals in Ust-Luga and Primorsk came under attack by drones. This is the second attack on these facilities in recent times.

This is reported by Russian media.

According to eyewitnesses, after 1 a.m., explosions were heard in the region, and a bright glow appeared in the sky, visible for tens of kilometers.

It is also reported that the sounds of explosions were heard in various areas of the region, in particular in Vyborg, Kirovsky, and Kolpino.

“According to preliminary data, about 20 air targets have already been shot down,” Russian media write.

Amid the attack, Pulkovo Airport temporarily suspended operations — flights have not been arriving or departing for several hours.

There is currently no official information about the consequences of the strikes. However, it is known that the ports in Ust-Luga and Primorsk are key for the export of Russian petroleum products.

As a reminder, on the night of March 24 , the Defense Forces conducted an operation during which they managed to hit the Russian NOVATEK-Ust-Luga plant in the Leningrad Region.
