One dead and two injured: two SUVs collided at high speed in Khmelnytskyi region

On Friday, December 12, at around 9:10 p.m., a traffic accident occurred on the Zhytomyr-Chernivtsi highway near the village of Antonivtsi. As a result of the accident, the driver of one of the cars died, and two more people were injured and hospitalized.

This was reported by the National Police of Ukraine.

The accident occurred between a Volkswagen car driven by a 34-year-old resident of Dunayevets and a Mitsubishi car driven by a 34-year-old resident of Zhytomyr region.

As a result of the collision, the driver of the Volkswagen died at the scene. The driver of the Mitsubishi and his 36-year-old passenger were injured and hospitalized to the Khmelnytskyi Regional Hospital.

The police opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – violation of road traffic safety rules or transport operation by persons driving vehicles.

Investigators are currently establishing all the circumstances of the accident and collecting the necessary evidence to conduct an investigation.

By the way, a serious road accident involving a school bus occurred in the Kamyansk district of the Dnipropetrovsk region . Two people died as a result of the accident, and seven more, including a child, were injured.

As a reminder, in Pryluky, Chernihiv region , a patrol police car ran over two people at a pedestrian crossing, resulting in the death of a child and injuries to a woman.

As reported, in Cherkasy , a woman driving under the influence of alcohol during the day hit three pedestrians, crashed into a parked car and ended up in a store . The police opened an investigation, the victims received medical assistance, and the driver was detained to clarify the circumstances.
