On the night of August 25, Russian troops attacked border infrastructure in the Odessa region with drones. The shelling damaged the international automobile checkpoint “Vynohradivka” on the border with Moldova.

This was reported by the Southern Regional Directorate of the State Border Service of Ukraine.

The attack caused a fire at the checkpoint. Rescuers have already contained the fire. The checkpoint infrastructure was damaged.

Traffic through “Vinohradivka” is currently temporarily suspended. The Moldovan side has been informed about the restrictions.

Transport that was supposed to cross the border through this checkpoint is being redirected to other operating checkpoints. Border guards have urged citizens to take the situation into account when planning their trips.

This is the second case of damage to a checkpoint on the border with Moldova in the Odessa region in recent days. On the night of August 21, Russian drones attacked the Tabaki checkpoint, as a result of which its infrastructure was also damaged.
