During his visit to Ukraine, Prince Harry visited the capital’s Independence Square, where people built a memorial to fallen soldiers and honored the memory of Ukrainian defenders.
This is stated in the article of The Guardian.
Arriving in downtown Kyiv, the prince wanted to lay a wreath at the memorial, but when a crowd began to gather around him, he was forced to go deeper to be alone.
“I wanted to find a place where I could lay the wreath in silence, away from everyone. My God, it’s like a maze in there. I didn’t realize how far it went. It’s honestly one of the saddest things I’ve ever seen. But also one of the most beautiful,” Harry said.
According to him, the war could have been avoided.
“This is all so unnecessary,” he added.
After his visit to the square, the prince disappeared. His car was separated from the convoy for about an hour, and when Harry returned, he appeared silent.
Some suggest that he met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during this time. However, there is no official confirmation of this theory.
Recall that Prince Harry arrived in Kyiv on September 12 for an unannounced visit . He stated that he wanted to do “everything possible” to help in the recovery of Ukrainian servicemen who were seriously injured during the war with Russia.
As is known, Prince Harry visited the site of one of the Russian strikes on the capital during his visit to Kyiv .
