Operation against Iran complete: Rubio announces new US plan

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced the end of the military operation against Iran, called Epic Fury, which had been ongoing since February.

According to him, this stage has already been completed, and the goals have been achieved.
“The operation is complete. We have completed the task and moved on to another phase,” Rubio said. He specified that the US is now focusing on a new direction related to shipping security.
This primarily concerns the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, where tensions continue due to Iran’s actions. Despite statements of a ceasefire, Tehran is actually restricting the movement of ships and, according to the US, even charging a fee for passage.
Rubio emphasized that the main task now is to restore free navigation.
“What is happening in the Strait could lead to Iran’s global isolation,” he noted.
The Secretary of State also called on China to influence Iran.
“You should not blow up ships and mine the strait,” he conveyed the US position, addressing the Iranian side through Beijing.
Rubio also mentioned Iran’s nuclear program separately. According to him, this issue should be resolved diplomatically, but it remains key in the negotiations.
Amid the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, the United States has already initiated an appeal to the UN to unblock the sea lanes. Washington fears that further escalation could affect the global economy, in particular through rising oil prices.
As a reminder,Iran has previously submitted a new proposal to the United States to resolve the war in the Middle East . The initiative involves opening the Strait of Hormuz and postponing negotiations on its nuclear program.
As reported, the administration of US President Donald Trump has officially notified Congress of the end of the war with Iran. At the same time, American troops remain in the region due to the continuing threats to the US and its military.
