Operation Vivaldi: Biletsky spoke about the liberation of territories and the disruption of Russia’s plans

The Third Army Corps completed the fourth phase of Operation Vivaldi, liberating three more settlements and 101 sq. km of territory.

This was announced by the commander of the Third Army Corps, Brigadier General Andriy Biletsky.

According to him, during the fourth stage, the Defense Forces liberated Zelenaya Dolyna, Lypove, and Kolodyazi. The losses of Russian troops during this period, according to the corps’ estimate, are about 3,000 people.

In total, during the four stages of Operation Vivaldi, Ukrainian troops liberated 16 settlements and 277 sq. km of territory . According to the corps, enemy losses amounted to about 8,000 soldiers.

Biletsky said that the operation began with the elimination of Russian groups that had infiltrated Ukrainian positions, and later developed into a large-scale offensive.

“We did not allow the enemy to bypass the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration from the flanks and pinch it in a pincer, and also protected the Kharkiv-Slavyansk highway. The enemy was unable to cut the key logistical artery of our group in Donbas,” Biletsky said.

In addition, according to the commander, the Defense Forces thwarted the offensive of the Russian group “West”. Because of this, the enemy was forced to transfer part of the units of the 1st Tank Army, which eased the pressure on Kupyansk-Vuzlovy.

The operation involved fighters from the Third Assault Brigade, the 60th and 125th brigades, reconnaissance and border units, Special Operations Forces, the National Guard, and unmanned systems units.

As a reminder, earlier the Third Army Corps reported the liberation of five settlements during the third phase of Operation Vivaldi . At that time, the total area of the territories returned to Ukrainian control was 176 sq. km.

At the end of September, President Volodymyr Zelensky reported on the results of Ukrainian troops in the Lyman direction in the Donetsk region as part of Operation Vivaldi . According to him, 10,660 Russian soldiers were killed and wounded in a week in all areas of active operations.

By the way, the Russian command has problems with reserves in the Lyman direction and is forced to reduce the time for training the military before their dispatch to the front . At the same time, the Ukrainian military says that Operation Vivaldi continues, and the situation for the enemy remains difficult.

Earlier it was reported that the Third Army Corps revealed the details of the offensive operation “Vivaldi” in the north of Donetsk region. The Ukrainian military cleared 75 square kilometers of territory from Russian groups and deoccupied another 10 square kilometers.
