Operation Vivaldi: Third Corps reveals details of offensive in Donetsk region

The Third Army Corps revealed details of the offensive operation “Vivaldi” in the north of Donetsk region. The Ukrainian military cleared 75 square kilometers of territory from Russian groups and deoccupied another 10 square kilometers.

During the operation, Ukrainian military cleared Novoselyvka, Oleksandrivka, Yarova, and the vicinity of Korovy Yar of Russian groups. The Defense Forces also liberated the settlement of Seredne.

The corps explained that the Russians actively used infiltration tactics. Small groups of Russian military personnel penetrated the gray zone, hid there, and in some cases dressed in civilian clothes. They were supposed to identify Ukrainian positions, strike at them, and create conditions for the further advance of the main forces.

To combat such groups, at the initiative of the commander of the Third Corps, Andriy Biletsky, a joint headquarters was created to coordinate the work of special and reconnaissance units.

At the same time, the Ukrainian military attacked the logistics of the Russian army. The Third Corps stated that these strikes forced the enemy to move some of its critically important supplies further away from the front.

In particular, the Russians moved the supply of fuel and lubricants outside Ukraine, to the Voronezh region. The Ukrainian military destroyed the pipeline and forced the enemy to move the warehouses.

According to the corps, during this phase of the operation, the Russian army lost about 1,500 soldiers, more than 12,000 drones, as well as hundreds of armored vehicles, artillery, vehicles, and special equipment. The corps said that the operation significantly weakened the 20th and 25th armies of the Russian Federation.

At the same time, the Ukrainian military continues to maintain defense in its zone of responsibility. The Kharkiv-Slovyansk highway remains under the control of the Defense Forces.

Biletsky noted that the completed stage is only the first part of Operation Vivaldi. According to him, the Ukrainian military will continue offensive operations.
