Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, during a meeting with Fidesz party activists in the city of Szombathely, declared that Ukraine is an “enemy” of Hungary for supporting the ban on Russian gas and oil supplies to the EU. He also accused the European Union leadership of possibly pressuring the bloc’s member states to participate in the war.

This is reported by “Unian” .

Orban stated that Ukraine’s actions regarding energy policy are contrary to Hungary’s interests and could affect the country’s energy supply.

“As long as Ukraine does this, Ukraine, I apologize, is our enemy. Ukraine violates our fundamental interests by constantly demanding and inciting Brussels to disconnect Hungary from cheap Russian energy. Whoever does this is not an opponent of Hungary, but its enemy,” Orban said.

According to the Prime Minister, without maintaining the current energy policy, Hungarian families’ utility costs could increase by 800,000 – 1 million forints per year.

Orban also spoke about the possible involvement of EU troops in the war in Ukraine. He stated that the appearance of European troops on the territory of Ukraine without agreements with Russia would mean entering the war.

“Ukrainians are asking for $1.5 trillion, including our money. If even one EU soldier appears on the territory of Ukraine without an agreement with the Russians, it means that we have entered the war,” Orban said.

He also accused the European Union leadership of intending to pressure the bloc’s member states regarding their participation in hostilities.

“And the European Union leadership is not satisfied that only half of the union will go to war, Brussels will put pressure on all member states to take part in the war. Therefore, our main opponent is Brussels,” Orban said.

Earlier, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban publicly stated that Budapest would not allow Ukraine to join the European Union , and also accused Kyiv of interfering in the country’s domestic politics.

As a reminder, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said he would block all European Union aid to Ukraine if the EU does not support the American “peace plan.” He wrote about this in a letter to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

At the same time, the Hungarian Prime Minister stated that his country is not interested in the fall of Ukraine, as this would become a serious problem for Hungary.
