Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has stated the need to lift all sanctions on Russian energy carriers.

This was announced by Hungarian government spokesman Zoltan Kovacs.

Orban has already voiced a corresponding proposal to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

According to him, the increase in fuel prices in Hungary was caused by the war in the Middle East and the blocking of the transit of Russian oil through the Druzhba pipeline.

“The oil blockade of Ukraine and the war in the Middle East are leading to rising prices. Europe must face reality: we need to review and lift all sanctions on Russian energy,” Prime Minister Kovacs is quoted as saying.

As a reminder, in February, EU foreign ministers failed to agree on the 20th package of sanctions against Russia due to Hungary’s veto.

As is known, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban announced the possible cessation of electricity supplies to Ukraine if oil transit through the Druzhba oil pipeline is not resumed.

Orban previously stated that Ukraine was blocking the transportation of oil through the Druzhba pipeline and threatened to resume the process by force .
