Orban visited the anti-terrorist center on the eve of the seizure of Ukrainian debt collectors
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban visited the country’s anti-terrorist center on the day Ukrainian tax collection vehicles transiting through Hungary to Ukraine were seized. Later that day, security forces from this unit seized tax collection vehicles carrying currency and gold.
This is reported by “European Truth” .
According to journalists, the prime minister’s visit to the Hungarian Anti-Terrorism Center, known in Hungarian as TEK, took place on Thursday morning. This is confirmed by photographs released by the government and reports from sources.
The trip was publicly explained by the worsening situation in the Middle East and the associated risks of terrorism.
“Because of this, we have to tighten control over passenger traffic arriving from abroad to Hungary,” said Viktor Orbán.
No other topics of discussion during the visit were officially reported.
Meanwhile, in the evening of the same day, security forces of the Hungarian Anti-Terrorism Center seized tax collection vehicles that were traveling from Austria to Ukraine in transit through the territory of Hungary. According to journalists, the vehicles were transporting a significant amount of currency and gold.
Several journalistic sources confirmed TEK’s involvement in this operation. This was also reported by Hungarian investigative journalist Szabolcs Pani, who did not rule out that the detained Ukrainians could be used in the further continuation of the special operation.
Despite the resonance of the event, there have been no official statements from the Hungarian authorities on this matter to date.
As a reminder, Foreign Minister Andriy Szybiga stated that Hungarian authorities in Budapest detained seven Ukrainian citizens — employees of Oschadbank — and seized the money they were transporting.
Subsequently, the collection vehicles of the Ukrainian Oschadbank, which were detained by the Hungarian authorities on the night of March 6, are now in the closed territory of the local Anti-Terrorism Center.
