Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban was booed during a speech in the city of Győr , traditionally considered a stronghold of his Fidesz party.

According to HVG , even before the event began, hundreds of supporters of the opposition Tisza party gathered in the central square. They chanted anti-government slogans and demanded an explanation for corruption and the economic situation in the country.

The situation escalated when protesters were blocked by groups of men in black without insignia. Opposition leader Péter Magyar claimed they were “titushki,” allegedly organized by Fidesz representatives to pressure the protesters. He added that there was a minimal police presence, increasing the risk of clashes.

During Orbán’s speech, constant whistles and shouts prevented him from speaking, forcing him to shout several times. In response, the prime minister accused those present of supporting Ukraine and claimed they were working against Hungary’s interests.

Although Győr has long been Fidesz’s electoral base, recent opinion polls indicate a decline in support for the party and an increase in the opposition’s popularity.

Ukraine recently agreed to the European Union’s offer of financial and technical assistance to restore the Druzhba oil pipeline.

Previously, some European countries and the European Commission asked Ukraine to provide access to the damaged section of the pipeline, but were allegedly refused.

As is known, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán announced the possible termination of electricity supplies to Ukraine if oil transit through the Druzhba pipeline is not resumed .
