Ordered to shoot civilians: SBU identifies Russian commander involved in war crime

The Security Service of Ukraine has identified the Russian commander who gave the order to shoot three civilians in the Kupyansk direction.
This was reported by the press service of the SBU.
As the investigation found out, he turned out to be Russian citizen Andrey Syrotyuk, commander of the 121st Regiment of the 68th Motorized Rifle Division of the 6th Combined Arms Army of the Russian Federation.
It is noted that on October 2, 2025, in order to sow panic, the occupiers changed into civilian clothes and, under the guise of local residents, infiltrated the outskirts of Kupyansk.
There, they shot three civilians at close range — two men and a woman — who were trying to evacuate from a frontline town.
Investigators are currently investigating the case under Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – war crimes that caused the death of people.
In addition, documentation of the crime for the International Criminal Court is ongoing.
As a reminder, in the temporarily occupied part of the Kharkiv region , a Russian soldier shot three civilians in the entrance of a residential building.
Earlier, in the Donetsk region, in the village of Shandryholove, Russian invaders shot a family of civilians and took a girl hostage to cover the advance of their troops.
By the way, near the town of Rodynske in the Pokrovsky district of the Donetsk region , a Russian soldier with a white armband shot a civilian .
