On Friday, December 26, electricity will be turned off again in most regions of Ukraine. Hourly outage schedules will apply for the population, and capacity restrictions will apply for industry.
This was reported by Ukrenergo.
The energy company explained that the restrictions are being introduced due to the consequences of Russian missile and drone attacks on energy infrastructure. It is the damage to energy facilities that forces the use of outage schedules.
Ukrenergo emphasized that the schedules drawn up by distribution system operators – regional energy companies – may change during the day depending on the situation in the power system. In the event of new shelling, emergency shutdowns are possible.
Energy experts also urged Ukrainians to use electricity sparingly during hours when electricity is supplied on schedule.
As previously reported, there are no more plans to shut off electricity in Kyiv and the Kyiv region today. The power outage schedules have been canceled for most groups.
