Ukraine will reduce the duration of power outage schedules after reviewing the lists of critical infrastructure facilities.

This was reported by Prime Minister Yulia Svirydenko.

According to her, the government held a meeting with the heads of regional military and civil administrations on the implementation of the Cabinet of Ministers’ decision to review the actual lists of critical infrastructure.

As a result of the inspection, at least 800 MW of electrical capacity was released. This will reduce the duration of power outage schedules for both the population and industry.

Two categories of consumers were excluded from the lists of critical facilities: facilities with a capacity of less than 100 kW and those to which other consumers were connected, which should be subject to general restrictions for the fair distribution of electricity.

Non-critical ancillary load consumers will be moved to general outage schedules.

At the same time, the review does not apply to support hospitals, life support facilities, and enterprises of the defense-industrial complex.

It was previously reported that power outages in Ukraine may be significantly increased due to severe frosts, and some cities risk having only a few hours of power a day.

Recall that Ukraine’s energy system is on the verge of a serious collapse, and Kyiv and the eastern regions may be left without electricity.
