Over 100 new companies since the beginning of the year: China is massively opening businesses in Ukraine

In January-July 2026, citizens of 65 countries registered 709 new companies with foreign owners in Ukraine. The largest number of new businesses was created by citizens of China – 114 companies, which is almost three times more than in the same period in 2025.
This is reported by Opendatabot .
In the first 7 months of 2026, Chinese people opened 114 new companies in Ukraine, which is 16% of the total number of businesses with foreign owners. Last year, 41 such companies were registered during the same period.
As a result, China overtook Turkey for the first time in the number of new foreign-owned companies. The top 5 countries included:
- China – 114 companies;
- Turkey – 98;
- USA – 62;
- Germany – 44;
- Azerbaijan – 35.
The largest number of new companies with foreign beneficiaries was registered in Kyiv – 360, or about half of the total number. 110 such companies were opened in Odessa region, 78 in Lviv region, 22 in Kyiv region, and 20 in Khmelnytskyi region.
The most popular area for foreign business was wholesale trade – 167 new companies, or 24% of the total. Entrepreneurs also most often chose:
- real estate transactions – 57 companies;
- construction of buildings – 54;
- IT – 45;
- head office activities – 40.
Among the new companies with foreign owners are enterprises with hundreds of millions of hryvnias of declared authorized capital.
The largest figure is held by Kyiv-based Agrotech Investment – 400.04 million hryvnias. Its beneficiary comes from Italy, and the company’s main activity is the provision of financial services.
The second place is occupied by “Esko-gazservis” with an authorized capital of 250 million hryvnias. The company is engaged in the extraction of natural gas, and its owner is a citizen of Cyprus.
The third is the holding company “Progeny Ukraine” with an authorized capital of 76.14 million hryvnias. Its beneficiary is a German citizen.
As of mid-May 2026, 21,967 individual entrepreneurs owned by citizens of other countries were also officially registered in Ukraine.
