Over 200 settlements left without electricity due to bad weather: the situation in the power system remains difficult

As of the morning of December 29, over 200 settlements were left without electricity due to adverse weather conditions.

This was reported by Ukrenergo.

According to the company, strong winds and sleet have knocked out power to homes in 215 settlements. Repair crews are working to restore power in all regions affected by the storm.

In addition, the consequences of attacks on the energy sector in the capital and Kyiv region are being eliminated. About 9,000 subscribers in the region still remain without electricity.

As a result of previous missile and drone attacks, consumption restrictions are in place in most regions of Ukraine, and in some places, due to difficulties in the power system, emergency shutdowns have been introduced, which will be canceled after the situation stabilizes.

Separately, Ukrenergo noted that electricity consumption corresponds to seasonal indicators. In particular, this morning it was 3% lower than at the same time of the previous working day. This is due to higher air temperatures.

“In regions where hourly shutdowns are currently in effect, there is still a need for economical energy consumption. Please limit the use of powerful electrical appliances as much as possible. If possible, move energy-intensive processes to night hours – after 11:00 p.m.,” the company urged.

Earlier, Ukrenergo stated that Ukraine remains in a difficult situation with electricity supply in a number of regions . The most problems are currently being recorded in the controlled part of the Donetsk region and in front-line regions.

As a reminder, emergency power outages were introduced on the left bank of the capital due to the Russian attack on December 27. Some areas were left without electricity .
