Over 33,000 killed and wounded: The Ministry of Defense summarized the Russian Federation’s losses for July

The irretrievable and medical losses of the Russian army in July can be compared to the number of three motorized rifle divisions. During July, the Russian Army lost 33,220 people.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on July 31, Ukrainian defenders hit or destroyed:

• 1,190 enemy artillery systems – the equivalent of 66 artillery divisions;
• 3,198 units of Russian military vehicles and tanker trucks;
• 85 Russian tanks;
• 140 armored combat vehicles.

“The most productive day in counter-battery combat was July 8 – then our soldiers neutralized 68 enemy artillery systems,” the Ministry of Defense noted.

The Ministry emphasized that enemy losses in July were lower than in previous months, because the enemy uses armored vehicles less often.

Earlier, the Air Force of Ukraine reported that during July 2025, the air defense of the Defense Forces of Ukraine destroyed more than 6 thousand air targets .
