In Kyiv, more than 1,400 apartment buildings remain without heating, and 40,000 heat packages will be distributed to residents.
This was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy following a conference call on the situation in the energy sector and the elimination of the consequences of Russian strikes.
According to the head of state, the most difficult situation with heat supply remains in the capital. More than 1,400 apartment buildings remain without heat, and residents of each of them should receive the necessary support.
The volume of the heat package program will be increased in Kyiv. In the near future, it will be brought to the level of 40 thousand packages, a significant part of which will be distributed in the capital.
Residents received the first 10,000 packages of heat on February 1. Assistance was provided to residents of the Darnytskyi, Desnyanskyi, and Dniprovskyi districts of Kyiv, as well as the cities of Boryspil and Brovary in the Kyiv region.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko clarified what is included in such assistance:
“The package contains things that will help you get through the cold period, stay warm, stay connected, and charge medical devices.”
As previously reported, the Ministry of Energy held a regular meeting of the Headquarters for the Elimination of Consequences of Emergency Situations in Kyiv and the region. The situation remains most difficult in the area powered by CHP-4.
Recall, on February 3, Russia dealt the most powerful blow to Ukraine’s energy infrastructure since the beginning of 2026. Electricity generation and distribution facilities came under attack.
