Berlin is actively preparing for a potential armed conflict with the Kremlin. To this end, German officials are developing a multi-page secret plan in the event of war.

This was reported by the Wall Street Journal.

As noted, about 2.5 years ago, high-ranking officers gathered at a military complex in Berlin to work on a secret project.

The document is called Operation Plan Germany. It consists of 1,200 pages.

It specifically envisions how 800,000 German, American and NATO soldiers will be sent east to the front line, specifying the ports, rivers, railways and roads they will use, and the methods for protecting them.

This plan is believed to be a “whole-of-society” approach to war, and the blurring of boundaries between the military and civilian spheres means a return to the Cold War period, only with new challenges and threats.

According to German officials, Russia is preparing and seeking to attack NATO territory in 2029.

However, a series of espionage actions, acts of sabotage, and violations of the airspace of European countries may indicate an acceleration of plans.

At the same time, the cessation of hostilities on the Russian-Ukrainian front could give the Kremlin time and resources to prepare military actions against members of the North Atlantic Alliance.

One of the authors of the secret project assured that the goal is to demonstrate to Russia its readiness for resistance.

“If they attack us, they will not succeed,” he stated.

The plan is currently in its second edition. The developers are constantly taking into account nuances and adding new details to it.

According to the publication, in a war with Russia, Germany does not plan to become a battlefield, but will remain a bridgehead. Military planners are paying attention to the modernization of infrastructure – Berlin wants to allocate more than 160 billion euros for this. Most of it will be directed to the railway, and emphasis is also placed on dual-purpose facilities.

However, the authors of the document constantly encounter shortcomings of “peacetime legislation” that act as obstacles. These include demanding procurement rules, complex data protection laws, etc.

At the same time, the Bundeswehr positively assesses the progress towards developing and implementing a plan to counter the Kremlin’s military aggression.

“Considering that we started from scratch in early 2023, we are very pleased with where we are today. This is a very complex product,” the co-author of the document summarized.

As is known, the EU has begun active preparations for a potential war with Russia – the European Commission has developed a plan for preparing countries for combat readiness by 2030

Recall that London and its NATO allies are already in a state of hybrid war with Russia : the deployment of units of the Royal Air Force of Great Britain in Belgium to protect its airspace and critical infrastructure is the most obvious sign of this.

By the way, Belgian Defense Minister Theo Francken stated that any Russian attack on the territory of a NATO member state would receive a harsh response — in particular, in the event of a strike on Brussels, “Moscow would be razed to the ground.”
