Parking in disabled spaces will become more expensive: Ukraine has increased the fine for violations
MP Oleksiy Honcharenko reported that in Ukraine, responsibility for one of the most common violations of parking rules – occupying spaces designated for people with disabilities – has been significantly increased.
He wrote about this in Telegram .
According to a new government resolution, from now on, unauthorized parking in such zones will result in a fine of 5,100 hryvnias , which corresponds to 300 tax-free minimum incomes of citizens .
It is noted that the changes were approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine as part of the fight against violations of the rights of people with disabilities.
In addition to increasing fines, the resolution imposes new obligations on drivers with disabilities and persons transporting them. In particular:
- The vehicle must have a “Disabled Driver” sign.
- You also need to use a QR ID that confirms your rights to preferential parking.
These measures are aimed at minimizing abuse and guaranteeing truly free access to parking for those who need it.
It is reported that even if a driver is actually transporting a person with a disability but does not have the appropriate sign or QR ID, he can be fined. The law does not allow any exceptions without proper confirmation.
As is known, parking spaces for people with disabilities should always be available to those who really need it – especially in conditions of dense city traffic. Often, these spaces are illegally occupied by drivers without appropriate licenses, and in such cases, fines should be an effective tool of influence.
It was previously reported that from July 1, 2025, updated rules of liability for traffic violations will come into force in Ukraine.
