Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has urged his supporters to mobilize ahead of the vote, calling the upcoming election “historic” and saying the ruling Fidesz party must surpass its 2022 election result.
“We have to win not like we did four years ago, but better. We need more votes,” said Viktor Orban.
During his speech, Orbán also presented the upcoming elections as a choice between war and peace. He accused his political opponents of trying to drag Hungary into the war in Ukraine.
At the same time, opposition representatives rejected these accusations.
According to Orban, the rally of his supporters was the largest of its kind and filled the square near the parliament building in Budapest.
On the same day, opposition forces held their own rally. Tens of thousands of people gathered on the avenue leading to Heroes’ Square.
The leader of the Tisza party, Peter Magyar, criticized the Prime Minister’s political campaign during his speech.
“Keeping power at any cost is what matters to him now. Provoking war, threatening war, inciting war. This is his most powerful weapon against the Hungarian people,” said Peter Magyar.
He also stated that Hungary should remain part of the European Union and NATO.
According to online broadcast data, the opposition politician’s speech on social networks gathered a larger audience than the Prime Minister’s speech.
In particular, the broadcast of Viktor Orbán’s speech on Facebook was watched by 9–10 thousand people, and the maximum number of viewers on his YouTube page was 4 thousand.
At the same time, the broadcast of Peter Magyar’s speech was watched by 44 thousand users on Facebook and 87 thousand users on YouTube.
By the way, the leader of the Hungarian opposition party “Tisa” Peter Magyar stated about possible Russian interference in the upcoming elections in Hungary . According to him, Russian military intelligence agents have been arriving in Budapest for several weeks.

As a reminder, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed the opinion that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban may be defeated in the upcoming parliamentary elections , after which Kyiv and Budapest will have the opportunity to restore full-fledged relations.
