Vladimir Putin said that a US delegation is due to arrive in Moscow next week for talks on a so-called “peace plan.” He claims that the US and Ukraine, after meetings in Geneva, prepared a list of 28 points and divided them into four blocks.

This is reported by Russian media.

Despite his stated willingness to discuss these proposals, Putin has simultaneously stated that “signing documents with the current Ukrainian leadership is pointless.” He says that Russia “generally agrees” to consider some of the points of the plan, but is trying to present the negotiation process in a light that is favorable to itself.

Putin said that Vladimir Medinsky and Yuri Ushakov will participate in the talks from the Russian side. He expects Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, to arrive from the US.

Putin also made several political statements – including that Russia “never intended to attack Europe” and that some of the proposed points allegedly “sound ridiculous.” He is commenting on all this against the backdrop of preparations for a new round of negotiations with the United States.

It was previously reported that Donald Trump’s special representative Steve Witkoff provided Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov with advice on how to properly present the Kremlin’s proposals regarding a possible settlement of the war in Ukraine to the American leader.

As a reminder, US President Donald Trump announced that US Special Representative Steve Witkoff will travel to Moscow to meet with Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin.
