On the evening of September 15, some passengers and employees were evacuated from Warsaw’s Frederic Chopin Airport due to unattended luggage. Pyrotechnicians were called in to inspect the suspicious item.

This was reported by Pawel Khmura, a representative of the Warsaw Police Headquarters, in a comment to tvn24.pl.

The evacuation began shortly before 7 p.m. People were evacuated from departure terminals A and B, as well as from the arrivals area near entrance A1.

Border Guard pyrotechnicians arrived at the scene and are checking the abandoned luggage.

Due to the incident, private car traffic in the departure area near the airport was also temporarily stopped. Only city buses were allowed to pass.

It is currently unknown how long the inspection will last and whether the situation will affect the flight schedule.
