Passed coordinates for missile strikes: SBU detained Russian “mole” in the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine
The SBU military counterintelligence has prevented a new attempt by Russian military intelligence to infiltrate the Defense Forces of Ukraine. A mobilized serviceman of the State Special Transport Service was detained in the Dnipropetrovsk region, who was passing on to the occupiers the coordinates of Ukrainian units for missile strikes.
This was reported by the press service of the SBU.
The special operation took place while the suspect was undergoing combined-arms training at the training ground. The investigation established that he was recruited immediately after mobilization, drawing attention to pro-Russian comments on social media.
The agent’s main task was to correct Russian air attacks on the Defense Forces in the Dnipropetrovsk region. He had already given the Russian special services the geolocation of the military unit where he trained, and later began collecting coordinates of other Ukrainian units.
He transmitted the information to the curator via messenger in the form of markers on Google Maps with a detailed description of potential targets. Thanks to the actions of the SBU, it was possible to identify the “mole” in advance, document his connections with the GRU, and ensure the security of military facilities in the risk zone.
During the search, the traitor’s phone was seized with evidence of his collaboration with the enemy. He was charged under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – high treason under martial law. The court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention without bail.
Such a crime is punishable by life imprisonment with confiscation of property. The special operation was conducted under the procedural guidance of the Dnipro Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in the Field of Defense of the Eastern Region.
By the way, the SBU detained a Russian agent who was preparing a breakthrough for an enemy sabotage and reconnaissance group in the Sumy region.
As a reminder, in the ranks of the Defense Forces , the Security Service exposed a serviceman who worked for Russian special services and shared information about fellow soldiers with the enemy.
As reported, the Security Service of Ukraine exposed and detained an FSB agent who served in the National Guard assault brigade. The operation took place in Kharkiv with the assistance of the Minister of Internal Affairs and the NGU command.
