Patriot systems have reduced their effectiveness in Ukraine: American intelligence has named the reasons

The US Department of Defense Intelligence Agency said that a sharp increase in ballistic missiles with improved maneuverability that the Russians are launching at Ukraine has reduced the effectiveness of Patriot air defense systems.

As noted, the improvement of Russian ballistics is a serious problem for Ukrainians.
In particular, the latest modifications involve changing the flight trajectory and using deception tools, which complicates the work of air defense and reduces the effectiveness of American Patriot systems.
Currently, Ukraine has several batteries: three received from the US, two from Germany, one from Romania, and another jointly supplied by Germany and the Netherlands.
The author of the article emphasizes that currently Patriot is Ukraine’s only reliable defense against ballistic missiles used by the Russian Federation to attack populated areas. However, recently, certain difficulties have arisen with the complexes.
“The Ukrainian Air Force has had difficulty consistently using Patriot air defense systems to defend against Russian ballistic missiles due to recent tactical improvements, including improvements that allow their missiles to change trajectory and maneuver rather than follow a traditional ballistic trajectory,” the Special Inspector General’s report explains.
It was previously reported that the Netherlands will provide Ukraine with a military aid package worth 500 million euros , which will include components and missiles for Patriot systems.
