The famous Ukrainian animated series “Patron the Dog”, which teaches children about safety rules in mined areas, has been suspended after the closure of American grants. The reason was the decision of US President Donald Trump to cut funding for USAID.

The author of the script, animator Sasha Ruban, told this in an interview with “Ukrainian News”.

According to her, viewers managed to see 10 episodes of the first season, a special, and 5 episodes of the second. Five more were never completed after a political decision from Washington.

“Mr. Trump said, ‘…a bunch of crazy people were running the grant programs and we’re going to kick them out.’ And the grant programs were canceled,” the screenwriter said.

Another Ukrainian animation project called “At the Edge of the Worlds” also suffered from the loss of funding. Unfortunately, only three episodes of it were released.

As reported, Ukrposhta will launch a stamp featuring a dog named Patron , who helps sappers demine territories.
