From April 1, a number of changes come into effect in Ukraine – pension recalculation, new payments, updated sick leave rules, increased excise taxes, and digitalization of mobilization.
Pension recalculation and possible losses
Pensions will be automatically transferred to pensioners who, after the payment was assigned, continued to work and accumulated additional experience.
At the same time, certain categories may lose payments if they do not confirm that they do not receive a pension from the Russian Federation or if they do not update their data.
Surcharge of 1500 UAH for millions
In April, more than 13 million Ukrainians will receive an additional payment of UAH 1,500.
Among them are pensioners, IDPs, low-income families, people with disabilities, single mothers, children in care, and other recipients of social assistance.
Cashback on fuel
A cashback program for fuel will be available throughout April. The maximum refund amount is up to UAH 1,000.
Assistance for IDPs
Children of internally displaced persons will be able to receive assistance regardless of family income.
Also, some IDPs may resume payments that were previously suspended due to excess income.
Mobilization and digital change
In April, the digitalization of mobilization will continue. Control over reservations and postponements will be strengthened, as well as the functions of the “Reserve+” application will be expanded.
At the same time, the Ministry of Digital Affairs emphasizes that there will be no summonses to “Diya”.
New sick leave rules
Starting in April, sick leave will be issued only on the basis of an electronic medical report.
The state is stepping up inspections: in case of violations, payments may be canceled, and funds may be recovered from the doctor or medical facility.
Excise duties and prices
The excise tax on cigarettes will increase from April 1. This may lead to an increase in the price of tobacco products.
Grants and new opportunities
New support programs will open in April. In particular, farmers can apply for grants of up to $150,000 to develop berry and vegetable growing.
Competitions in the field of culture for the creation of films, music, and other projects are also starting.
