He wrote about this in Telegram .

Klymenko called the behavior of the two law enforcement officers inappropriate and announced further personnel steps.

“The actions of the policeman and policewoman who arrived at the scene of the terrorist attack. Shameful, unworthy behavior. This is a shame for the entire system,” said Klymenko.

He clarified that an investigation is underway regarding these employees, and decisions will also be made regarding management.

“They have been suspended, an investigation into this is ongoing. Additional personnel decisions will also be made regarding the managers,” Klymenko said.

The minister emphasized that it is not necessary to generalize the assessment of the entire police force based on the actions of individual employees.

“Individual situations do not reflect the system as a whole. After all, even in this same special operation, the KORD, criminal analysts, and other involved forces acted professionally and quickly,” Klymenko said.

According to him, the attacker’s mental state was unstable, and the circumstances surrounding his obtaining a weapons permit will be investigated.

“How he obtained the necessary medical certificates to extend his weapons permit must be investigated,” Klymenko said.

At the same time, the minister emphasized that there are no plans to conduct mass checks on weapon owners.

“There will be no mass checks of gun owners,” Klymenko said.

He also expressed his position on granting civilians the right to own firearms.

“I believe that people should have the right to armed self-defense,” Klymenko said.

The Minister reported on preparations for expert discussions of the draft law on civilian weapons with the participation of MPs, the public, journalists, and veterans.

Klymenko also expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and stressed the need to strengthen the security system.
