Petro Poroshenko: On Easter, we pray for our military and for peace in our land.

Petro and Maryna Poroshenko took part in the Easter service at St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Cathedral, which was led by the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, His Beatitude Metropolitan Epiphanius of Kyiv and All Ukraine.

“This is the thirteenth Easter during the Russo-Ukrainian War. And the fifth – during a full-scale invasion. As has become traditional, during the All-Night Vigil at St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Monastery, Marina, I, and hundreds of Kyiv residents prayed. We asked the Lord for protection for our soldiers, prosperity for Ukrainian families, and peace in our land,” the fifth President wrote on social media .

“In these moments, one feels especially how closely intertwined faith and the reality of war are: when every prayer is not just words, but an inner support that helps us endure. We hold on to it just as we hold on to each other,” Poroshenko writes.

“Faith gives us hope for the Bright Resurrection of all Ukraine. May the Lord hear our prayers! Christ is Risen!” writes the fifth President.
