The illnesses of people’s deputies of Ukraine and employees of the Apparatus are not related to food in the dining room of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

This was reported by the press service of the Verkhovna Rada Apparatus, based on the conclusion made by the Center for Preventive Medicine of the State Affairs Directorate based on the results of the investigation.

As is known, after reports of possible poisoning cases, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine initiated a set of measures involving relevant specialists.

Thus, representatives of the Center inspected the dining room and its employees, documentation, food products, the food preparation process, conducted a study of drinking water and water for cooking, etc.

PCR tests established that the same type of virus was detected in the individuals who took the tests – norovirus (an acute infectious disease that often spreads in closed and crowded spaces and is transmitted by contact, household and airborne droplets).

The device has taken additional measures to prevent the spread of infection.

As a reminder, on Thursday, February 12, the Verkhovna Rada temporarily suspended the work of the parliamentary dining room due to possible poisoning of MPs.
