Poland and Ukraine launch joint production of drones and weapons

Poland and Ukraine have agreed to launch joint production in the defense-industrial complex, including drones and other weapons.

Kyiv and Warsaw have signed a letter of intent on joint production of defense products. Tusk announced this during a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv.

According to him, the parties have been working for several months to create conditions for the implementation of the project, in particular, seeking financing and eliminating barriers that complicated the exchange of technologies.

The Polish Prime Minister emphasized that the letter of intent is already supported by specific agreements, and added that Poland will work on the effective use of funds from the European SAFE program for common security.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, for his part, noted that the experience of the war allowed Ukraine to form a clear vision of what weapons actually work in modern combat conditions.

He also emphasized that Ukraine counts on Poland’s continued participation in the PURL program, which remains key to strengthening air defense.

It was previously reported that the US will continue to provide Ukraine with offensive weapons until a peace agreement is signed.

Recall, Estonia is preparing a new package of military assistance for Ukraine, which will include drones and counter-drone equipment.
