Poland calls emergency meeting over possible assassination attempt on Prime Minister Tusk and Defense Minister

In Poland, police received information about a possible plot to assassinate Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Defense Minister Władysław Kosyniak-Kamyś. In response, the Interior Ministry ordered the necessary measures to be taken, and representatives of law enforcement agencies were summoned to an emergency meeting.

Polish Interior Ministry spokeswoman Karolina Halecka reported that after receiving information about a possible attack, the Minister of the Interior and Administration, Marcin Kerwiński, and the Minister-Coordinator of Special Services, Tomasz Siemoniak, ordered appropriate measures to be taken.

“In response to information received by the police about a possible attack on Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosyniak-Kamyś, Minister of the Interior and Administration Marcin Kerwiński and Minister-Coordinator of Special Services Tomasz Siemoniak ordered to take appropriate measures,” Halecka said.

In connection with the incident, an emergency meeting was scheduled with the participation of representatives of the police, the State Protection Service, and the Internal Security Agency.

Jacek Dobrzyński, the press secretary of the Minister-Coordinator of Special Services, also confirmed this information in a comment to the PAP agency. At the same time, he noted that he could not disclose the details of the meeting. According to him, journalists will be informed if a press briefing takes place.
