Polish President Karol Nawrocki signed a law that extends payments under the “800+” program only to Ukrainians who officially work and pay taxes in Poland. The period of legal stay of Ukrainian citizens in the country has also been extended until March 4, 2026.

According to the head of the Presidential Office, Zbigniew Bohutsky, Navroczky will not sign any other laws on additional assistance to Ukrainians, Inpoland writes .

“The President is sending a very clear signal today – no more preferences, no more special conditions. These issues must be resolved by general rules that apply to everyone,” he stressed.

Bogutsky noted that the document effectively marked “the end of tourism from Ukraine at the expense of Polish taxpayers.” Now, Ukrainians who do not work and do not pay taxes in Poland lose the right to a number of benefits – from rehabilitation programs to preferential prescriptions for medicines and dental services.

At the same time, the head of the Presidential Office announced the preparation of two new legislative initiatives.

The first will concern the extension of the deadline for submitting applications for Polish citizenship for foreigners, including Ukrainians.

The second will provide for amendments to the Criminal Code and the law on the Institute of National Remembrance to prosecute persons who try to “perpetuate lies about Volyn.”

It was previously reported that Ukraine will begin search and exhumation work in Poland . The start of such work is scheduled for September 30. Ukrainian specialists will first examine a mass grave in the village of Yurechkova.

As a reminder, Polish law enforcement officers reported the detention of two 17-year-old Ukrainians who painted red-and-black flags and left “Bandera slogans” at memorial sites for the victims of the Volyn tragedy.
