Poland has prepared fighter jets and air defense systems amid Russian shelling of Ukraine

On Thursday, February 26, Polish and allied aircraft took to the air due to the massive Russian shelling of Ukrainian regions.

This was reported by the Operational Command of the Armed Forces.

In particular, Poland deployed fighter jets and an early warning radar aircraft. In addition, ground-based air defense and radar reconnaissance systems were prepared.

As the command explained, the actions are preventive in nature. They are aimed at protecting airspace, especially in regions where there is the greatest risk of threats.

“The Operational Command of the Armed Forces is monitoring the current situation, and the forces and means subordinate to it remain ready for immediate response,” the message says.

As a reminder, on February 26, the Air Defense Forces neutralized two Russian Zircons, four ballistic missiles , 24 cruise missiles, two Kh-69 missiles, and 374 drones.

As is known, the Russian occupation troops massively attacked Ukrainian cities . Kharkiv, Kryvyi Rih, and Zaporizhia came under attack.

Among other things, the enemy struck the Vinnytsia region . The attack caused damage, and a woman was also injured.
