Poland is preparing a 50 million euro package for Ukraine: they will transfer ammunition for F-16

Poland is preparing a new military aid package for Ukraine worth about 50 million euros. It will include aviation ammunition for Ukrainian F-16 fighter jets, which can be used to combat Russian drones.

This was announced by the Deputy Minister of National Defense of Poland, Stanisław Wziontek, Polskie Radio reports.

The Polish side noted that the package is already being prepared for transfer to Ukraine.

“Our assistance is in the process of preparation. Everything will happen in a moment. I can’t say what it contains, I will only say: this is what Ukraine needs now,” said Vziontek.

According to him, this concerns, in particular, basic aviation ammunition that is installed on F-16s to destroy Russian drones.

The Deputy Minister also clarified that Poland plans to transfer other aviation equipment to Ukraine. The total cost of the new defense package could be about 50 million euros.

Ukrainian F-16s already use AIM-9 and AIM-120 air-to-air missiles to counter Russian aircraft. It has also been previously reported that these fighters use APKWS II missiles, which can be used against drones.

As a reminder, as part of the new military aid package , Poland is preparing to transfer missiles for the Patriot air defense system to Ukraine . Warsaw does not disclose the exact amount of ammunition.
