Poland is waiting for Zelensky: Warsaw hinted that the ball is in Kyiv’s court

The head of the international policy department of the Office of the President of Poland, Marcin Przydach, said that if Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wants to meet with Polish leader Karol Nawrocki, he should come to Warsaw himself.
He said this in an interview with TVN24, commenting on the prospect of Navrotsky’s visit to Kyiv.
“If President Volodymyr Zelensky wants to meet with Karol Navrocki, nothing prevents him from getting on the train and arriving in Warsaw,” Przydach emphasized.
When asked whether the Polish president, given the Ukrainian leader’s greater diplomatic experience, should be the first to arrive in Kyiv, the Chancellery representative noted: “There are no established rules in diplomacy as to who should make the first move.” According to him, an example of this is the recent visits to Poland by the leaders of Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and Denmark after Navroczky’s inauguration.
The official added that further development of the bilateral dialogue and planning of future meetings will depend on the success in resolving historical and economic issues between the countries. When asked by journalists whether official invitations to the meeting had been sent from both sides, Przydach confirmed that such invitations had indeed been sent.
Meanwhile, according to Gazeta Wyborcza, citing its own sources, Karol Nawrocki does not plan to go to Kyiv yet, despite repeated signals from the Ukrainian side. Since he took office in August, the presidents of the two countries have not had personal meetings, limiting themselves to telephone conversations.
We will remind that two Ukrainian citizens — a 32-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman — were detained in the Polish city of Katowice . They are suspected of carrying out tasks for foreign intelligence.
