Poland is introducing temporary restrictions on air traffic in the eastern part of the country along the borders with Belarus and Ukraine.
This was reported by the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency (PANSA).
The decision was made at the request of the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces. The department explained that this is due to the need to strengthen security measures.
“At the request of the Operational Command of the Armed Forces, in connection with the need to guarantee national security, air traffic restrictions are being introduced in the eastern part of Poland from June 10 to September 9, 2026,” the PANSA report states.
The restrictions will be in effect until September and will cover the area along the entire Polish border with Ukraine and Belarus. At the same time, PANSA clarified that the new rules will not affect passenger aviation – civil flights will be able to fly at an altitude of more than three kilometers.
The reasons for the increased security regime are not officially disclosed in detail, but in Poland they directly link this decision to the situation in the eastern direction and threats to national security.
