From February 1, the payment methods for assistance under the “800+” program for refugees from Ukraine will change in Poland.

This was reported by the Rzeczpospolita publication.

Thus, from the beginning of next month, payments of 800 PLN per child will be suspended, and those Ukrainians who meet the state requirements will be able to resume receiving funds.

Ukrainian citizens with temporary protection status will have to submit applications to the Social Insurance Administration to resume child benefits.

At the same time, not all refugees will be eligible to receive money. Payments will only be confirmed to those who work under an employment contract or agency agreement, are self-employed in business, have sports or doctoral scholarships, or receive unemployment benefits or study on a scholarship.

It is emphasized that in order to receive money, it is necessary for the child to attend Polish educational institutions.

As noted, currently the new rules apply only to Ukrainians, however, from June 1, 2026, the innovations will also affect other foreigners.

Earlier, Polish President Karol Nawrocki signed an updated law on supporting Ukrainian citizens after the government made amendments that, according to him, make the document fairer for Poles.
