Poland may soon consider transferring additional Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems to Ukraine after the incident with a Russian missile that flew into Polish airspace.
This was stated by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a press conference.
According to him, he plans to discuss this issue with Defense Minister Vladyslav Kosiniak-Kamysh in the near future.
Tusk stressed that Poland’s security directly depends on how effectively Ukraine is able to defend its skies. That is why Warsaw is ready to consider further military assistance, including the transfer of additional Patriot systems.
“We will consider further assistance to Ukraine as soon as possible. This includes, if necessary, additional Patriots, because our intention is for Ukraine not to lose this war,” the Polish Prime Minister said.
He also noted that if Ukraine had more modern air defenses, the Russian missile probably would not have crossed Polish airspace.
As a reminder, after a large-scale Russian missile attack on Ukraine on the morning of July 30 , a crater was discovered in Poland that could have been formed as a result of the fall of an unknown object. The incident occurred in the Lublin Voivodeship after an air alert was declared.
