Poland does not have Patriot interceptor missiles to transfer to Ukraine, but Warsaw is calling on other allies to help supply them.
This was stated by Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski in an interview with the PAP agency.
According to the minister, after the strikes on Iran, the shortage of interceptor missiles has increased, while Russia produces more missiles than allies have the means to intercept them.
“This is a real problem. There are countries in NATO that still have such resources, but Poland is not among them,” Sikorski emphasized.
He noted that Warsaw continues to support Ukraine within its capabilities, but does not have any Patriot missile stocks to transfer.
“We can only join the calls for countries that have Patriot missiles to share them with Ukraine,” the head of the Polish Foreign Ministry added.
As a reminder, on October 15, it became known about a critical shortage of Patriot interceptor missiles in Ukraine . According to CNN, during one of the Russian attacks, Ukrainian air defenses were unable to intercept most of the ballistic missiles due to a shortage of ammunition.
On October 16, Ukraine announced plans to attract a Polish loan for the purchase of weapons . The amount is 125 million euros, in particular for the purchase of Polish Piorun man-portable anti-aircraft missile systems.
