Police in Dnipro detained a man who raped and strangled an 11-year-old boy

In Dnipro, police have detained a man suspected of murdering an 11-year-old boy. The child’s body was discovered during search efforts after he went missing.

This was reported by the police of the Dnipropetrovsk region.

According to the investigation, the child disappeared on May 26, after which the parents contacted the police.

“On the evening of May 27, the police received a report that on May 26, at around 1 p.m., the boy went outside for a walk and did not return home,” law enforcement officials noted.

The police immediately launched a search, interviewed the child’s surroundings, and checked her circle of friends.

“Juvenile police officers of Dnipro began a search, established the child’s circle of friends, and interviewed relatives and acquaintances,” the report says.

During the investigation, law enforcement officers located a suspect, a 40-year-old man, who was detained.

“The suspect was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, and investigative actions are ongoing with him,” the police reported.

He is charged with the intentional murder of a minor child. Law enforcement officers continue to establish all the circumstances of the tragedy.
