Police officers struck and killed a child in the Chernihiv region.

In Priluki, Chernihiv Oblast, a patrol police car struck two people at a pedestrian crossing, killing a child and injuring a woman.

This was reported by the police of the Chernihiv region.

According to preliminary reports, the response team was responding to a call in a company Mitsubishi Outlander with its flashing lights on. The patrol officers struck a woman and a child at a controlled pedestrian crossing. Further details of the accident have not yet been released.

The officers in the police car were suspended from duty. Deputy Chief of the National Police Serhiy Kobets and the leadership of the Main Inspectorate Department responded to the scene.

The State Bureau of Investigation will be handling the investigation into the fatal accident.
