Poland announced the interception of another Russian reconnaissance aircraft in international airspace over the Baltic Sea.
This was reported by RMF24.
In particular, Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosyniak-Kamysz spoke about the incident. According to him, the air force intercepted a Russian military aircraft for the second time in a week.
“Today, MiG-29s intercepted a Russian reconnaissance plane over the Baltic Sea, just like yesterday,” the official said.
On Thursday, the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces announced the deployment of its fighter jets and an early warning radar aircraft.
At the same time, ground-based air defense and radar reconnaissance systems were brought into maximum readiness. These actions were a response to the Russian attack on the western regions of Ukraine and increased aviation activity.
As noted, Russia has recently increased the number of flights over the Baltic Sea. In this way, the occupiers are trying to test NATO’s combat readiness and collect intelligence data.
As a reminder, on October 28, Polish fighter jets intercepted a Russian plane that was in the airspace over the Baltic Sea.
Earlier , five Russian aircraft were spotted over the Baltic Sea . NATO urgently scrambled its fighter jets for protection.
By the way, on Sunday, September 21, NATO scrambled two German fighter jets to intercept a Russian reconnaissance plane over the Baltic Sea.
