Polish police investigate incident involving threats against Ukrainian workers

In Poland, police have launched an investigation after an incident in which a man behaved aggressively towards Ukrainian employees, insulted them with obscene language and made threats. After the incident went public, the employer fired the man.
This is reported by Polish media.
The incident occurred last Friday at a company near the town of Skawina in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship.
A video circulating on social media shows a man wearing a construction helmet and a high-visibility vest. He verbally abuses workers from Ukraine, shouts insults including “Bandera,” “go to the front,” and “Putin is waiting for you,” and then tries to take the phone from the person filming.
The next day, two Ukrainian citizens contacted the police in Skawina with a statement about the threats.
As reported by the spokeswoman for the Lesser Poland Voivodeship Police, Katarzyna Ciesło, after watching the video, law enforcement officers decided to investigate the case not only for the fact of threats, but also for the article on discrimination on ethnic grounds.
The collected materials will be transferred to the prosecutor’s office. The man has already been identified, but he has not been detained yet.
After the incident, Grupa Stadnicki, the company the man worked for, announced that it had terminated cooperation with him.
The company stated that his actions did not reflect the employer’s position, and also emphasized its zero-tolerance policy towards any manifestations of aggression and violence.
As a reminder, Polish law enforcement officers have detained two suspects in an attack on Ukrainian citizens in Wroclaw. Another alleged attacker is currently being sought.
