Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that Russia could be ready for a potential attack on NATO countries in a very short time. According to him, it is not about years, but months. At the same time, he raised questions about the real readiness of the Alliance and the United States to act in the event of such a threat.

He said this in an interview with the Financial Times.

“For the entire eastern flank… the question is whether NATO is still an organization ready, politically and logistically, to react, for example, against Russia if it tries to attack,” Tusk noted.

He stressed that he does not question NATO’s Article 5, but wants to see its practical implementation, not just political guarantees.

“This is really serious. I’m talking about the short term, months rather than years,” the Polish Prime Minister added.

Tusk separately mentioned the incident with Russian drones that violated Polish airspace last year. According to him, not all allies immediately recognized the seriousness of the situation.

“It was not easy for me to convince our NATO partners that this was not a random incident, but a well-planned provocation against Poland,” he said.

Tusk also noted that sometimes it is easier for allies to “pretend nothing happened” than to acknowledge the risks of escalation.

At the same time, he emphasized that Europe is gradually changing its approach to defense.

“Paradoxically, if there is anything positive about the war in Ukraine, it is that Europe is increasingly aware of the need for common defense,” the Polish Prime Minister concluded.

Recall that most NATO defense officials believe that Russia will be able to attack the alliance in the coming years.

It should be noted that the Kremlin is actively forming the psychological and informational basis for a possible future war against NATO.

By the way, Russia is creating a network of “Trojan horses” by buying up real estate near military bases in NATO countries to launch a coordinated sabotage campaign.

As it became known, a propaganda campaign has been intensified in Russia regarding the creation of the “Narva People’s Republic” , which may indicate that the Kremlin is preparing to attack Estonia.
