Political scientist announces new project around Hetmantsev

A new center of political influence may be forming in the Verkhovna Rada around the head of the tax committee, Danylo Hetmantsev, and in parallel, preparations are being made to launch a new left-wing political project.

This is reported by political scientist Viktor Bobyrenko.

According to him, a new political force can be built for the electorate of industrial regions – Kharkiv, Dnipro, Zaporizhia, and Kremenchuk.

“This is a left-wing political project, which is designed for the electorate that remained after the Party of Regions. People should be led on social and economic topics,” Bobyrenko notes.

Among the possible public faces of the project, he names Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov, who is positioned as a “strong businessman”, as well as the head of the Mykolaiv Oblast Executive Committee Vitaliy Kim.

At the same time, according to the political scientist, Danylo Hetmantsev may become the key figure.

“A fundamentally new center of influence in parliament is being formed around him, which can gradually take over the role of leadership in the faction,” he notes.

Bobyrenko also claims that Hetmantsev is already forming his own influence group within the Servant of the People faction.

“Hetmantsev is already gathering deputies under his wing and building an intra-party group,” says the political scientist.

He separately draws attention to the aggravation of the situation in parliament, which, in his opinion, may be part of the struggle for influence.

“The parliamentary crisis has become a test of influence and a possibility of pressure on the Office of the President. Hetmantsev’s public statements about the “Yermak gang” look like an element of this struggle,” the expert believes.

He also suggests that the politician can position himself as the new opposition.

“Hetmantsev is beginning to claim pressure from various sides, which may indicate preparation for the role of a new opposition figure,” Bobyrenko notes.

According to him, there remains a significant demand for socially oriented policies in Ukraine, which could become the basis for such a project.

As previously reported, Ukrainian political scientist Viktor Taran sharply responded to the statement of the head of the Verkhovna Rada Tax Committee, Danylo Hetmantsev, about a “divine mission” in politics.
