Poroshenko at a meeting with young European politicians: only our strong united position will force us to stop the war
Petro Poroshenko addressed the participants of the International Political Youth Camp, which brought together 200 participants from 12 European countries and various parts of Ukraine. He noted that only a strong united position of Ukraine and its allies can force the war to stop.
“First of all, we do not accept the strange idea of exchanging territories. This will never happen. We in Ukraine will never trade our territories. And those who want to do this can easily sell the Kuril Islands, Kamchatka, Kuban or something like that. I think that this would be positive for the largest country in the world by territory. Regarding Kuban, we are even ready to think about it,” Poroshenko said.

“We must talk about how to save Ukraine. We must talk about how to protect democracy and freedom. We must continue our integration into the European Union and our Euro-Atlantic integration into NATO,” Poroshenko emphasized.
“And we will not let anyone stop us. Not Putin, not some stupid heads inside Ukraine. Regardless of whether they are trying to attack the anti-corruption infrastructure, independent journalism, freedom of public activists or attack the opposition. We cannot remain silent when we see corruption, when they steal from soldiers. It does not matter whether it is eggs for 17 hryvnia, mines, shells, tanks or FPV drones. We will defend our armed forces. Why? Because only one language understands the ways – the language of force,” said the fifth President.

Now we can only talk about one thing – an unconditional, comprehensive, reliable ceasefire. Without this, it is impossible to have a global security situation. Because Russia, with its aggression as a member of the UN Security Council, has completely destroyed the post-war security system. Therefore, we must be united, we must be strong. We must transfer our European economies to war footing. And we must open the door of the European Union and NATO for Ukraine on the basis of merits,” Petro Poroshenko emphasized.

“And we in Ukraine must do our homework. We must protect the reforms carried out during my presidency. Starting with decentralization and ending with anti-corruption reform. Starting with the reform of the civil service and ending with the reform of financial institutions. Starting with the reform of the security sector and the Armed Forces and ending with the position of the rule of law, independent courts, the protection of human rights, the protection of the rights of journalists, the protection of the rights of youth and many others,” Poroshenko said.

“We are talking about how to bring Ukraine closer to Europe. How to make us part of Europe? And how to do it as soon as possible. We can do a great thing: stop the war, bring peace, bring Ukraine to Europe, save democracy and make Ukraine big again,” the fifth President summed up.
The partners of the event, organized by the All-Russian Public Organization “Solidarity Youth”, were the Robert Schuman Institute, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, the International Youth Democratic Union (IYDU), the youth organization of the European People’s Party (YEPP), the EPP student organization (EDS) and the Poroshenko Foundation.
