Poroshenko brought an excavator to the underground hospital where wounded soldiers are being rescued

During his trip to the front, Petro Poroshenko visited an underground hospital where wounded Ukrainian soldiers are being rescued, and handed over a new excavator. The complex system of labyrinths was built with an excavator that Poroshenko had previously handed over to the military. And now the hospital will also have its own digger – because it needs to expand.

“We drive into a kind of labyrinth. Above our heads are several meters of earth and a heavy ceiling of logs, under the wheels is a special covering of stones and staples. We are met by military medics and taken to the operating room. They have just saved the life of a soldier from the 95th brigade. The guy has both legs amputated and almost lost his eyesight. Mine,” the fifth President describes the difficult work of surgeons .

“The war showed that we need to hide underground. This location was built for about 4 months, this is our fifth or hundredth location. It is clear that the best location is underground, so the command of the Medical Forces decided to do it here. This is the only advanced surgical group in the Kursk direction,” the hospital says.

“I’ll meet the doctors. Hours of hard struggle in the operating room. Exhausted, but continuing to do their job professionally. All are volunteers, mobilized with the start of the full-scale invasion. Someone was a famous oncologist surgeon, someone was a perinatal doctor, someone operated on children. They admitted: everything they know now was taught by the war. Because every day they are brought to them very seriously wounded. Sometimes the ambulances don’t have time to replace each other,” Poroshenko writes.

“In the fourth year of full-scale operation, there is little that is impressive, but this place takes your breath away. These underground labyrinths were dug by one of our diggers, which we handed over to the military. And today we closed the request to the hospital itself and brought them their own excavator. They will expand,” states the fifth President.

“I am grateful to you, friends, for your titanic work. Because your front is life. We will see each other again!”, Poroshenko wrote.
