Petro Poroshenko called for support in voting for a street named after Hero of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy in the center of the capital. The corresponding voting is underway in the “Digital Kyiv” application.
“In the very center of Kyiv, the pages of Ukraine’s modern history were written – from the Orange Revolution to the Revolution of Dignity. It was created by the courage and victory of the Ukrainian people. It was here that bloody clashes between the Berkut and protesters unfolded, it was here that the fate of the country was decided,” the fifth President wrote on social networks.
“Among the thousands of people on the Maidan was our Andriy Parubiy. A man who stood shoulder to shoulder with the protesters at the most critical moments — during the assaults and attempts to forcibly clear the main square of the country. Coordinator and creator of the Maidan Self-Defense. Commandant of the Maidan,” the leader of Eurosolidarity writes.
“The building of the Verkhovna Rada is also located in the center of Kyiv – a place where key decisions in the history of the Ukrainian state were made. It was within these walls that Andriy Parubiy, already in the position of Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, fought for our Language, Army, and Faith,” Poroshenko recalled.
“The European Solidarity team in Kyiv initiated the naming of a street in the very heart of the capital in honor of the Hero of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy. This is a street at the intersection of Mykhailo Hrushevsky Street and Parkovaya Road, which currently does not have its own name. Not far from the Verkhovna Rada, Mariinsky Park, and Independence Square… This place is significant for both our team and Andriy himself – a significant part of his path is connected with him,” Poroshenko writes.
“Just now, a survey is underway in the “Kyiv Digital” application, the results of which depend on the future fate of this street. So I urge everyone to support this decision at the link: https://kd.kmda.gov.ua/l/QoZLI2tRyC Because for us, it makes a difference which streets, boulevards and avenues we walk along every day,” Petro Poroshenko emphasized.
