Poroshenko explained in the Rada the value of the century-old Agreement with Great Britain
Petro Poroshenko, during the discussion of the ratification of the Agreement on the Centennial Partnership between Ukraine and Great Britain, emphasized that it defines Ukraine’s membership in NATO as a real guarantee of security for our state. But for this, Ukraine must carry out appropriate reforms, the opposition leader noted.
“European Solidarity” votes for this Agreement. I have just returned from Great Britain, had meetings in the government, in the parliament, at the University of Cambridge, where I gave lectures, spoke at a conference. Britain is our reliable partner. But this Agreement is of an exclusively symbolic nature,” the fifth President stated.
“Why are we voting? Because the Agreement states the need for Ukraine’s membership in NATO as a single strategic position for ensuring security. Ukraine’s membership in NATO provides for internal reforms. This is what the European Parliament Resolution says. Metsola spoke about. And it is very important that the authorities hear this,” Poroshenko emphasized.
“There is democracy, there is freedom, there are weapons, there is the defense industry, there is finance, there is the security and independence of Ukraine,” Poroshenko said.
